Intended Use

The Monkeypox Virus IgM/IgG Antibody Rapid Test Kit is used for the qualitative detection of Monkeypox Virus IgM/IgG antibody in human serum, plasma, or whole blood samples. It is intended for in vitro diagnostic use, and for professional use only.

 

Introduction

Monkeypox is a viral zoonosis (a virus transmitted to humans from animals) with symptoms very similar to those seen in the past in smallpox patients, although it is clinically less severe. With the eradication of smallpox in 1980 and the subsequent cessation of smallpox vaccination, monkeypox has emerged as the most important orthopox virus for public health. Monkeypox primarily occurs in Central and West Africa, often in proximity to tropical rainforests, and has been increasingly appearing in urban areas. Animal hosts include a range of rodents and non-human primates.

Storage and Stability

Store at 2 ~ 30 º C in the sealed pouch for 24 months.

Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.

Do not freeze.
 

Operation

 

Bring tests, specimens, buffer, and/or controls to room temperature (15-30°C) before use.
1. Remove the test from its sealed pouch, and place it on a clean, level surface. Label the test with patient or control identification. For best results, the assay should be performed within one hour.
2. Using the provided disposable pipette, transfer 2 drops of serum/Plasma to the specimen well (S) of the cassette with the provided disposable pipette, then start the timer.
Avoid trapping air bubbles in the specimen well (S), and do not add any solution to the result area.
As the test begins to work, the color will migrate across the membrane.

3. Wait for the colored band(s) to appear. The result should be read at 10 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 15 minutes.
